The Apocalypse Came Not With A Bang,
But with an exhalation of the Crypt Door.

The Crypt Has Opened is Americana and campy horror wrapped in a 90s aesthetic. Players take on the roles of magical practitioners fighting cryptids, malevolent spirits, and the Crypt itself to reclaim the Dead Spaces of a world.

This is a game for players who enjoy “Tales From the Crypt”, Stephen King’s “The Stand”, or “Lockwood and Co.” Those who have played Forged in the Dark games, Cypher System, or Brindlewood Bay will feel right at home here.

New nations have arisen from the corpse of the old world, perpetually stuck in the 90s. Communities trudge out to the Dead Spaces between the East and West Coasts to rebuild cities that have been overrun by The Crypt.

The Imposition Dice System is a resolution mechanic born out of games such as Blades in the Dark, Cypher System, and Savage Worlds. All rolls are player facing with graduated success and a narrative first focus.

After 5 years of development, The Crypt Has Opened has entered its Prelaunch phase for Kickstarter. It has undergone playtesting at Momo Con, Dragon Con, hundreds of one-shots, and a full year-long campaign.
With over 4,500 downloads on Itch.io, it is poised for a successful launch.
It is mechanically finished. The Crypt Keeper (Game Master) section and lore information are currently being finalized. As of now copy editing is being provided by Chaotic and layout by Andrew Beauman with interior art by myself.
If chosen, I am willing to pull its February launch date for further development and marketing.
Two Actual Plays have also been produced. One by myself called Shadows of Point Pleasant (currently still in post production) and another by Grimstone Gaming with a 5 part series.
